What's In My Makeup Bag
I used to fancy myself a bit of beauty expert. I mean, I competed in pageants, I twirled for a major university, I coached interview for pageant contestants. I used to slave over my makeup--looking at the latest trends and mastering the best smoky eye. These days I have traded my old ways for the Mama face, i.e. more about fast and coverage than on-trend. So, here are my go-to products.
Makeup Forever Ultra HD Foundation. I used to use the Mat Velvet +, but changed to this about a year ago for something not as harsh on my face and not quite a pigmented. This stuff stays on all day and stays put. I love the coverage and there are so many shades. I get mine at Sephora.
Makeup Forever Pro Finish. It's is my setting powder. Yes, I love a powder. It does not crease or looks cakey. Use with a brush that is the key not a sponge to apply.
Nars Blush. I use the tried and true orgasm shade and sometimes deep throat. Just a little on the apple of my cheeks.
Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer. I use vanilla year round. It is just the best. I also use some Senegence products as well, including their concealer. This is the same company that makes LipSense. I do not use the lipstick, but some of the beauty products are nice.
R+F Lash Boost. Seriously ya'll it is the best product I have ever invested in.
Lancome Definicils Mascara. Again, another tried and true for me.
As for eyeshadow, I am all over the place. As you can see from my photo, I have some Too Faced, Clinique, Nars, Urban Decay. What I can tell you is that I tend to go with purples, bronzes, and tangerines. I use the colors that compliment my eye color which is green. Then depending on my outfit or day I tailor my eyeshadow needs. However, my go-to is Metallic Pink Chrome from Makeup Forever. I can swipe it all over my lid and then add a cream or white to my brow bone and inner corner and call it a day.
I rarely wear lipstick. I am a chapstick girl.
Here is what I look like on a normal day in my office. Literally took this in my office at about 1:50 pm.
