Ice Cream and Sunshine: Hello Monday
If I had to sum up our weekend in a couple words, it would be ice cream and sunshine! We did our fair share of sweet eating and sun ray catching!
So, here is what our weekend looked like. Friday I had a rough day at work. Like, on of those days where you question why you do what you do days. So, after dinner I needed ice cream. Ok, I didn't need it, but it sure sounded good. So, we opted to try out a new place in town Creamistry. They take ice cream base, you pick the flavor and then mix ins and they do it right there with liquid nitrogen.
Then I came home and binged some Orange is the New Black. Is anyone else still watching it? I am not sure how I feel about this season with all the new people, but its just easy watching for me.
Saturday we were up and off to our last summer dance class. I have been an assistant teacher in E's class and it has been a blast! I am also excited to be a permanent member of the faculty and will be teaching 4 years olds in the fall.
I then had a dance staff meeting and open house. It was so fun to bond with the other teachers, news flash I am the oldest and the resident mom other than the owner. I am totally ok with it.
Saturday night we took my mom out for dinner and it was so fun. Her and E have such a good time together and well, we are just grateful.
Sunday I slept in until 8:30 am! Thank you grandma!! Then we had a family run. I rarely run with my husband, so it was nice to just spend that quality time with him and we chatted along the way. E ran with my mom and then we met for a cool down. I love that loves to run and I know that I am setting a good example for her of a healthy lifestyle.
The rest of Sunday morning was spent in the water. From E's pool in our tiny front lawn to then going to my brother's community pool. My kid loves to swim. You can see her on my Instastories.
Lastly, we had a wonderful dinner at my brother's house post swim to celebrate my mom's 70th birthday! That's right, my mom will be 70 years young on Thursday. So, we dined and sang and had some cake!
This red velvet Bundt is made locally by the most amazing lady! It is called Mistress and has chocolate chips in it. Made to order and simply divine.
And now its Monday again and I am just counting down days until we head to the beach... 28 to be exact.... Just saying.
