Spring Casual Capsule Wardrobe for Moms
Spring has finally sprung, and I could not be more excited! However, in the midst of rotating out my winter staples for spring attire, I decided my spring wardrobe could use a little update. But, I loathe shopping. Ok, so let’s be clear, I LOVE shopping, I loathe finding finding pieces and putting them together.
Let’s be honest, shall we? I have 0 extra minutes to spare to go into a store and try things on. I have even less than 0 minutes to figure out what is in style and how to put it altogether. But, I found a fun and easy solution. I had someone else do it for me.
Yup! You heard me, I had a stylist pull pieces for me and show me exactly how to style them—for free! How, where? At Evereve. Long story short, one of my good friends works at the local store in Fort Worth and has heard me complain about having no style, other than what I wear to work everyday. So, she told me to come in and she would style me. Ya’ll, it my was Pretty Woman moment! Two dressing rooms full of clothes, hand-picked and curated for me!!
Danyelle talked trends and my lifestyle and pulled pieces that would work for my mom life as well as my work life. So, let’s see what she picked!
Spring Style Must Haves
Joggers. Give me all the joggers. Joggers are big again this spring, but with a little more flair, including camo and track-suit inspired.
Crops. I live for a good crop pant on the weekends and even at work sometimes. And the crops this spring had a little more pizzazz. Perhaps my favorite are these black slit front crops. They are not only so comfortable, but just so darn cute! You can dress them up or down, or even use as cover up at the beach. Wide-leg is also on trend this season and that means in crops as well. These green wide like crops were darling with a raw edge. I love that army green is in as well.
Scallop Edge Hem. This spring is all about the sassy hem. From the raw edge to the scallop (my favorite) it puts a new twist on your old stand-bys. These scallop hem jeans in a light wash are perfect for dressy dates or casual ones. And these softer than soft tear-drop hem leggings, let’s just say they will be a new staple in my weekend rotation.
Jumpsuit. Yup, the jumpsuit looks to be a mainstay for spring. I am loving all the spring colors and soft fabrics that are making jumpsuits a comfy occasion. This one by Michael Stars seriously felt like putting on your favorite comfy pjs. I could live in it. Wear it with sandals or wedges or even the uber trendy casual tennis shoes, its just such a versatile piece.
Drawstring shorts. Nothing says warmer weather like shorts, but if you are anything like me, you have a love/hate relationship with them. I love a pair that hit the right length, do not give me a camel toe and well are not too tight in the waist. Hello drawstring. From shorts to skirts, the drawstring makes shorts much easier to fit and be comfortable you know after that second hamburger and cold IPA. The chambray ones were my favorite, but I also loved these green ones. A classic pull-on style short in a lightweight linen/tencel blend fabric for the ultimate in comfort. Perfect for vacation or a warm summer day. Pair with your favorite graphic tee and sneakers.
Graphic Tees. I love a good graphic tee. I love a good graphic tee that is soft, easy to wear and have a good message. This grey tank from Spiritual Gangster totally rocks my my world.
Kimonos/Ruanas. Ok, so I was not a fan of kimonos until I was taught how to wear them and more importantly what to wear them with! This one from Billabong, now sold out, rocked my world. Its soft and billowy but have a drawstring waist so I do not look like a ompa loompa. Perfect for the beach, work or brunching with the girls.
Animal Print. It is here to stay, at least for spring and summer. Its made it way onto shirts, pants, but my favorite…. shoes. From the ever popular slide to sandals and more. Add a pop of animal print to any outfit to be “on trend” this year.
Ya’ll, I had an absolute blast being styled for spring and summer. It was so easy. It was perfect for this busy mama who tends to invest less and less in my personal style these days. And the best part about Evereve is the kid-friendly environment. They have a playspace right outside the dressing room complete with snacks. E was in complete heaven.
Ok, so let’s see some of the outfits styled for me.
