Not All Cancer is Pink
Many of you know Jessi Otey (from Jessi's Design blog). Well, she and her family could really use many prayers and lots of help.
Jessi's four-year-old daughter, Andi, had surgery yesterday to remove a Wilms tumor on her kidney -- and doctors also removed the kidney itself. Andi will be starting chemotherapy soon.
Wilms tumor (also called Wilms’ tumor or nephroblastoma) is a type of childhood cancer that starts in the kidneys. It is the most common type of kidney cancer in children. About 9 of 10 kidney cancers in children are Wilms tumors.
We would like to ask people to contribute as they feel led to this Pay Pal Pool to help alleviate any cost burden possible for the Otey family (medical costs themselves, hospital parking, etc.). Jessi and her husband, Seth, are so grateful for anything you can give -- and even the smallest $5 will help. But please also pray for this sweet family as they navigate a long road ahead of them.
Andi was born just 2 days after E and one day after my friend Jess’ sweet Vivi. These three girls are our April triplets. Though they have never met, their mamas have formed a unique bond that only the blogging community can foster. Watching Andi grow up, is like watching my own sweet E grow up as well.
Please feel free to share this logo and the Pay Pal Pool link on your social media accounts, too, using the hashtag #SupportForAndiOtey Remember, not all cancer is pink!
