Weekend Wrap-Up Vol. 3

Coming at you a day later since yesterday #worldcancerday. So, let’s recap our oh so busy and exciting weekend!

What I Did:

It was all things Rodeo this weekend. In case you missed it or my Instagram, the Fort Worth Stockshow & Rodeo is in town and this is the last week for it. And in true Texas fashion, the weather was gorgeous for a trip our to the midway. We opted not to attend the actual rodeo this year and instead enjoy all the other sights and sounds: rides, funnel cake, turkey legs, animals…. you know the very important rodeo things.

I also worked my Junior League yell and sell shift Friday night at the rodeo. For those of you non-Fort Worthians, the Junior League seels programs at the rodeo as a fundraiser. We literally yell to sell them and its a tradition that has been going on since the 1950s.

What I Saw:

All the people. The Rodeo is great people-watching. You see it all from city gals trying to fit it, to true rodeo people and then those who just show up for the food and fun.

I also get to start my weekends with some of my favorite little people. Teaching dance is just too much fun. I especially love watching my creative movement babies grow.

What I Ate:

What did I not eat?

Saturday night the hubs and I did date night and went to Rise 3. Its a souffle place that we just love. I had the spicy sausage souffle and hubs had the crab. The crab one tasted like the best crab cake I have ever had. We then split the bananas foster souffle for dessert, but not before starting the meal with the cheese sampler.

And then of course we ate all the rodeo food. Giant turkey leg, huge pizza…. and there was a funnel cake, but that got eaten too quick for photos.

And last, but not least, we ended our weekend with pedicures! It has become somewhat of a monthly treat with my mom, E and I. We chat, giggle and enjoy being pampered.
