Weekending: Pageants & Meet the Teacher
I cannot believe that summer vacation is pretty much over here in Texas. The public schools started today here in Fort Worth and E starts Pre-K Wednesday at her new school.
This weekend was full of all things school prep and pageanting! Yup, I have leaped back into the pageant world as a board member of a local preliminary for Miss Texas and we held our pageant this weekend So, let’s recap last week.
I headed to Parent Orientation for E’s new school. It was so fun to see her tiny little cubby and locker and meet the other parents and her teacher.
Later that day, E got to spend some time at work with mommy! I loved having my little assistant for a few hours. We then had to head up to TCU, my alma mater, and E got totally spoiled!
While E and the hubs went to Meet the Teacher and the back to school fair, I headed up the studio for open house. It was so fun to see all our new students and returning girls! We also had a little family lunch and got prepped for classes!
After open house and lunch, I packed up E and my mom and headed to the pageant!
If you know nothing about pageants, I competed back in 2007 and now sit on the board of a local preliminary. The girl must win a local in order to compete in Miss Texas. They win scholarship money and as much as pageants get a bad rap, I must some of my best friends competing.
E got to be a part of the princess program as well and had a blast!
E had an absolute blast and loved getting to walk the stage! I am so excited to get to work with our new titleholders and mold them into even better versions of themselves this year!
Sweet sleep! Since we did not get home until after 10:30 pm, I needed some sleep. And then it was errands!
We had to get some new school shoes, ran by Old Navy for their denim sale and off to Target to stock up n all things school lunches! I made sure to have E help pick out food, so she had a say in her lunch and would hopefully eat it all.
By the time we got back from all that, E was exhausted and whiny and I finally told her she needed some quiet time in her room. Well, after some crying and stomping she was fast asleep after 5 minutes. She slept for 2 hours!! Praise Jesus all the heart eyes and praise hands emojis.
After she woke up, we headed outside for some sunshine and very hot fresh air. E is starting soccer tomorrow so she tried out her new cleats and shin guards and play ball with daddy outside, while I hopped on a call (Ya’ll, I am planning some amazing stuff and cannot wait to share it with you all soon!)
Then we headed out for Tex-mex before my mom headed home.
I wish I had more pics, but this weekend was full of excitement for the week ahead. E has three more sleeps until Pre-K.
Are you littles back in school? I love seeing all the back to school pics and will obviously bombard you with mine on Wednesday.
